Hi: This is my first post. I finished the left border, attached it to my afghan, and draped it on the loveseat to admire it. My dog, Phoebe, jumped on the sofa and found a nice spot to take a nap.

Oh, drdi, I'm so glad you posted! Your photo could be the cover photo for the published pattern directions! That just says it all - dogs know where comfort lies! Please tell what your colours are!

Hi everyone: I am posting the colors for my afghan as requested.....
Contrast A 4 balls--Incense
Contrast B 3 balls Bitter Rose
Contrast C 3 balls Porcelain Red
Contrast D 3 balls Willow
Contrast E 2 balls Aqua frost

:hellogoodbye: Happy to show my sewn on side borders!

Just a tip (and this may be common knowledge for most) but before you sew on your border it is helpful to pin it in place starting with the very edges, then the middle, and then in between those spaces so you can just concentrate on your sewing and not on easing or stretching it to fit. While I worked on the afghan laying on my lap it reminded me how very soft and lovely the Waverly yarn is and how great it will be when it is complete and ready for snuggling under on cooler nights! :D

But knowing I am on the eve of another clue I am wondering how long last weeks clue is going to take me to get caught up. Thanks!
p.s. rough estimations are fine I know we all knit at different speeds. I am just looking for if it is quick or a little slower b/c pattern requires a fair amount of attention (think week 3 six row repeat that kept throwing me for a personal loop!)

I don't think I am a fast knitter. It took me roughly about 8 to 10 minutes per 14 rows and I needed 22 repeat. So almost 4 hours per side ;) Hope this answer your questions. I wonder how others are doing?? :hrmm:

Ho ho! You are fast! It is taking me about 20 mins. per small square. But I watch TV, manage 3 kids' needs, the laundry, and talk to my husband all the while.....and I've had to rip out a few rows several times for forgetting to do the yo! and then my cats jump on my lap just when I get going again! Looking forward to some quiet Time alone without distraction tonight... Should get off this forum!

You girls are too funny! I have about 1/3 of the left side done. I too am getting distracted by 3 kids and husbands who want attention and silly things like dinner. I think I should have it done now that everyone is tucked in by 11.30. Of course I need to get off of here!

Very good advice. It's like sewing and keeps everything evenly distributed. Your borders are pulling the whole thing together. How is it going for the top and bottom borders? I like the side borders so much that I am thinking up a way to do the same for top and bottom. I have extra yarn so we'll see if I can figure something out.
