Baby BLanket Pattern #491

I recently found this pattern on Ravelry - and it looks so cute! It will end up looking like hearts and I really can't wait to gift it to a fellow employee at work.

However - I am 4 rows in tonight and nothing is lining up - which was already noted on Ravelry. But then other people had said they had no problems.

So - I am having problems and wondering if any of you out there have tried this pattern with success? Or if you are able to help me figure it out?

I think the problem lies in the fact that on the first row you are skipping 5 dc to knit the shells and then one row up you are skipping 6 dc.
