As for the motif that you are off on, if you can live with fudging on the seaming....go for it, that is what I would do and no one but you will know what you did. So sleep tight, and if all else fails you can nap (perhaps) after your test tomorrow

Home from the colonoscopy. Glad its over with. I have sewn together two rows of the afghan this morning before the procedure, but now my brain is foggy from the anesthesia. I really want to work on the afghan but the brain won't let me. I'm bored right now

and wish my brain would come back to me.
