The layout is beautiful! It is asymmetical which is different than anything I imagined. I think I will be using it though. The whole point of my doing the CAL was new skills and working "outside of the box"! Proud of the work I have done so far.

Happy seaming everyone!! Will be wonderful to see how they are all coming together!

I will fall behind with seaming due to the kids (and hubby) being home on Spring Break and with all the Easter activities we have going on. (I posted in the off-topic chat part of the forum about the production I am involved in.)

Hmm...it is asymmetrical now but I wonder what will happen when we do the border??? I am thinking I may wait to do my seaming until the boreder clue comes out... :hrmm:

I am so frustrated!
No matter how I line up my stitches/loops before seaming them together, most of my motifs are off centred, they lean to one side or the other. I get it perfectly centred. I use my stitch markers to hold them in place. Then I use my left on tail to seam it and when done I look at it and it is not as even as when I lined it up. Every so often I accidentally get it perfect once seamed, but it really does seem to be more accidental than when I try it on purpose. I am not removing my seams! Just frustrated with the quality of my work. Hope it sets itself right when I sew the strips together. This is my first time ever seaming anything together in this magnitude. makes me know why I avoid it!

As for the motif that you are off on, if you can live with fudging on the seaming....go for it, that is what I would do and no one but you will know what you did. So sleep tight, and if all else fails you can nap (perhaps) after your test tomorrow ;) !!

Home from the colonoscopy. Glad its over with. I have sewn together two rows of the afghan this morning before the procedure, but now my brain is foggy from the anesthesia. I really want to work on the afghan but the brain won't let me. I'm bored right now :| and wish my brain would come back to me.

Had that 2 weeks ago, still have not fully recovered. Another week to wait to hear if it is really bad news, otherwise I get the results in January (next year!)
The brain will recover fast. Eat slowly. Eat small amounts. Eat often, but only a bit each time, get your body used to the food again

I showed my Dad this morning the rows I had seamed together and he said it will be a beautiful afghan when I get it done. Having my Dad say this is a huge compliment coming from him. This cheered me up today! :D

I've found that the pieces don't match exactly either. I just fudge a little here and there and make them fit together. I like when each block has the same number of stitches but these don't.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one having problems matching up some of these blocks. Thanks! I have to skip a stitch every now and then on one of them, I think it is clue 5 that I do that on. The one that looks like an 8 sided granny square.

I have my motifs stacked together with a note on top stating how many stitches are on each side. That way I can tell just by looking if I will need to make adjustments, and can seam accordingly.
