Of course, even though I spent hours working on the test swatch ... it doesn't fit me  ... and what's with those sagging *coughnipplescough* at the bottom of the sweater near the belly button ??? That's just too realistic for this old lady  I hope I can block or steam those out.

It's supposed to have long sleeves and I'm contemplating just putting a little short sleeve on it .. maybe leaving a rolled edge like it is right now. I think it looks nice with that black, long sleeved t-shirt underneath those short sleeves.

Wow amazing work!
I've never tried clothing yet. The patterns are so confusing and intimidating to me. I think I'd love to try it someday.

Thank you ... to be honest, that's a super easy pattern.

I remember feeling that way. I made my first sweater with some very inexpensive cotton yarn, and the sweater had short sleeves. It was much easier than I thought it would be, and I love how it turned out! I still wear that sweater.

Thanks Shandeh,

I always seem to do that. I'll attempt to do something really hard and after I'm done I sit back and say ...
that wasn't so hard.

Maybe, an idea for a future CAL?? Lol

I've actually been thinking of doing a basic knitted sweater as a KAL here in the forum.
Maybe we could do a crochet vest CAL sometime. That would be an easy way to start garment work in crochet.

I would love to do this one for a future clothing CAL http://www.bernat.com/data/pattern/pdf/Bernat_Satinweb29_cr_vest.en_US.pdf. It's so cute over a long sleeve, but I think would be a perfect piece for warmer weather too.

That is a nice pattern! I've never crocheted a garment before. My only concern is that it's all in one piece, so sizing and gauge would be critical. Do you think it would be a good first time crocheted garment?

I don't think it would be too hard. The body (double crochet) section is done first, so you can try it on as you go and then you add the collar and bottom (lacy part).
