I am still so darned anxious to see what the free patterns will look like and what the pattern books will include
This page:
http://www.bernat.com/product.php?LGC=waverly&SPP=999 still says 4 families.
I check that page often right now, hoping to catch the patterns when they first show up!

That is strange that the store workers hadn't heard of the yarn as I order it on line from them at the end of January.

The 21 newest colours is what I was referring to. Not the original 28 colours, those they know about. When I first heard of Waverly I had to drive to Paris to see them all in person, back in January.

I was at Michael's today looking for yarn for a couple of baby projects (I'll have a new nephew in June!). Lo and behold, Waverly is on sale $3.99 each from $5.99. Lots and lots of Sundrift, Bitter Rose, Willow and Mauve Glow, then a smattering of the other colours.

When I was paying, I mentioned that I was really happy to see Waverly on sale. The clerk said that it's all clearance so it's discontinued product. I said that's odd considering it was just released in January. She said something to the effect that other Michael's stores in the area got the yarn before they did. I'm not sure how that fits into the logic of discontinuing a new product. Anyway, ended up getting way more yarn than I expected. I'm going to have to find a project for all this yarn!!

Yeah, that's weird to me too. I don't know why Michaels does that all the time.

Joann's has had the Waverly on sale for the past few days here. I stopped by both of the stores on my way home from work on Monday, and only one had any.....just a small display with maybe 10-12 colors, but only a few skeins of each. I bought several for my stash, and asked if they would be getting more. No one knew, and I didn't take time to find a manager....I really just wanted to get home. It's been disappointing for this very nice yarn not to be readily available at the craft stores in our area.

Where do you live? I hadn't noticed it at the Joanne's close to me in the Los Angeles area. I may be by there tomorrow, so I will check to see if they now have some. Maybe we all need to let Michael's and Joannes know (by telling the managers) that we like it and would like to see them carry a nice selection of colors in Waverly. It might make a difference! It gets costly ordering it, and you are not sure of the colors when looking at the computer screen.

Canadian Zeller's sells the Waverly. Our Zeller's has always been similar to your Target. So why not check out Target to see if they have it?
Our Zeller's is dying, so it can be found on clearance at many stores right now. I just keep waiting for the price to drop a little more. Seeing as I bought most of my Waverly at Michael's for only $2.49 I hate paying more than that!

Target doesn't carry yarn in my area. Occasionally, they will have a few tiny craft skeins in the $1 bins out front. But, they don't have name brand yarns at all.

Target here (Central Kentucky) doesn't carry yarn either.

Whoops! Sorry about that. Now this news makes me sad, since our Zeller's will all mostly be turning into Target's by the end of the year. Zeller's was where we would go as a secondary place to buy yarn. Walmart has a poor selection, only about half an aisle, Michael's doesn't carry that much yarn any more unless it is their own poor quality Impeccable line. So when we needed something different we headed to Zeller's. Taking the drive to Listowell is also not convenient for often - it is about 2 hours away. Lens Mill isn't great either to buy yarn from since they never have sales. :( :(

Target has never sold yarn or other craft items in my area. Wal-Mart used to be a great alternative place for yarn, but they have really decreased the shelf space for yarn. They also mostly carry that "animal" brand. As for Hobby Lobby and Michaels, they have both scaled back yarn stock and most shelf space is reserved for their own brands. My local specialty yarn store does not carry "mass produced" yarn. as I was told by the owner. It does, however, sell Knit Picks yarn...go figure.
