What would suggest for the matching pillow? I love to crochet, but I am not a designer, and I have no eye for color. Would really appreciate your input. Thanks.

I am another one that has been following along and love all the tips, pictures, and motivation. Also talked my sister into doing this. She doesn't have a home computer so I give the clues. She only got upset with me once for being late with the clue - didn't get it to her right away. Something called meeting at work had me doing other things.

I have all the pieces for the crochet one done but haven't decide if I am going to block or not. I have also started the knit one but I have given that one the name of Frog! It will be sometime before I finish the knit one. Learning lots of different stitches in crochet and knit.

Welcome shar319! :hellogoodbye:
That's so cool that both you and your sister are making blankets. Good luck with that frog blanket! ;)

Welcome Freiburger! :)
I hope we get to see photos of your work!

Bimpnottin wrote:Ok, I'm not sure if I like the pattern, but that's what this has been about for me. Stepping out of my comfort zone and not just making a rectangular blanket, but following patterns and charts.

I still have a couple of clue 5 to finish and a couple of clue 6.

I'm not sure how this is going to look, but I'm going to go with it and go ahead with my plan to give it to my Mom for Mother's Day. I don't think anyone has ever made her anything like this. Usually it's a Grandma present to my kids, so I think that will be a nice surprise for her. (I hope!) :idonno:

So, guess I have to go finish those motifs and start sewing, after I find my yarn needles. Had two really nice, big ones and I can't find them. I'm pretty sure "Not me" did something with them. (You know, where you ask your kids who did something and they all answer, "not me." - he causes lots of trouble in my house!)

Hope you have found your needles, for my Knit a long I have been using circular removable point needles which one day I went to grab my work only to find one of the ends missing. They are screwed on, and would not just fall off, but no one knows what happened to it. Thank goodness after some digging I was able to come across it!!! :bravo: :bravo:

Well, it was one of those moments. I was down to putting the LAST strip of the afghan together when I found that one of the Clue #5 motifs was missing :idonno: . I guess I only thought I finished Clue #5. Off to make one more.

So, last night I was stitching the motifs together while watching TV, had them all in place and could not, for the life of me, find one motif I needed to add, so I thought maybe I just needed to make one more. When I get all done putting the rest together, weaving in the ends, etc. I realize that I sewed one in the wrong place. It was the one I had thought I needed to make yet. So I have this odd shape on one side and need to find the seem end so I can remove it. I guess that's what happens when I am watching TV until 2 am. LOL

I've also decided to try my hand at making a border tonight, using my own pattern, because I realized my brother's anniversary is next week and we're driving 600 miles to his house for Easter. Maybe it can be a nice present for him and his wife, even if it means I finish it in the car. :) I was going to use it for a niece's wedding present in May but I found another pattern for her afghan. I have never made a blanket or anything for my brother so this should be nice.

Ack! That would have driven me crazy, not knowing where that other point is.
I'm so glad you found it. :)

Well, I'm glad you found the missing motif, even though it will take a little extra effort to "release" it.
