I really like your layout!
But how did you make the picture of the layout?? :idonno:
Is there some kind of program or web site??

I love the way that looks! It looks like she used powerpoint.

Wow, I am so awed by all of the creativity that is in this forum...I made 2 CAL & am now planning a third with ideas from all of you! This has been a fantastic adventure & an incredible learning experience. Can't wait to see what the border will look like! :cloud9:

It is taking me longer than I had hoped. Do you think it might be my help?

How cute. The main reason I haven't laid mine out to see how it will look is because my dogs will be right in the middle. I'm taking them with me this weekend when I take my daughter back up to college. I got a hotel room to spend the night and enjoy time with her. King size bed will be perfect to lay these out on and look at them (without the extra help).

Wow! Just peeking in to the CAL layouts (I'm over in the KAL). This one is my favourite. I love the multicoloured Clue pieces-you can really see the motifs stand out. And the variegated ones that contain a little of each colour really tie the whole thing together. Don't know if those are the Clue 5 pieces you are talking about modifying, but my vote would be to leave them as is. They are sprinkled around the others just nicely.

Haha! Definitely! I have two cats too and that is exactly what they do when my pieces are out.

These are my 4 contrast colors - I'm leaving out my beige master color this time.

boyd121, I found a flower pattern by googling octagon flower - it's on Ravelry (can I post the link here?). It's just a flower but then I added to it using Clue 3 rows 5, 6 and 7, and it came out perfect. I used the same hook I used on the rest of the clues. I'll try to post a photo later.

Excellent idea, thanks - I did search but I think I searched for octagon flower motifs...hadn't occurred to me to just find the flower part and add to it :)

Bring safety pins or something else so you can connect the corners on strips so you can maintain the LO you decide on without having to spread it out again at home!
Strips for cal.JPG

I pinned mine out into 6 strips, so all I have to do is grab a strip pile and seam it together. Tell the truth I don't even know what strip I am working on during it! The biggest challenge is yet to come, later today, assuming I get off the forums and get seaming, I need to seam one more strip then my long edges together finally! I am using my tails we left on to do these short seams,
