This particular novel takes place around the catering service that was set up by some characters from some of her other novels. You'll find some of the other characters in her other novels, too.

The other ones I haven't heard of.

Is there a particular order that Maeve Binchy's books should be read?
Does the story continue from book to book, or are they separate stories?

No particular order. While some of her novels feature the same characters, each story centralizes around one character. Most of her books are independent of each other.

Hello all. If you log onto www.readersadvice.com they list all books according to catagorie:i.e. Sewing/needlework; Cafe mysteries, etc. Also: www.mclib.org/booklistmystery. They also list by subject: Food. Clergy,Animal, etc.Manchester Public Library also lists by subject and gives you a synopsis of the book. Hope this helps.

http://www.goodreads.com/ is a site dedicated to reading. It has lists of books by author, category, etc. You can also post and read reviews. You can create an account and keep a list of all the books you have read, have, etc. You don't have to create an account to browse though.

Some time ago, I found almost a full set (hardback) of the "Left Behind" books at a thrift store, for less than a dollar a book. There are 16 books in the series, and I have 14 of them now. So, I've been reading them, and really enjoying it. I've even been setting aside my knit & crochet projects! ACK! ALERT THE MEDIA!

Right now, I'm on the 10th book, and I'm glad I have them.

Now that it's getting hotter outside, I'm getting into some deeper reading. Looked at my shelf of unread Agatha Christie books, and grabbed "Sad Cypress". It turned out to be an EXCELLENT story! :reading: It involves a vast fortune, no will, murder, romance, jealousy, and gossip. :reading:

I finished it today, and immediately have started reading it again. It should be fun to "watch" it all happen again, knowing the truth about everyone.

I also plan to reread The Clan of the Cave Bear series by Jean Auel which I read in the 80' when they first came out. I always kept the books because I was waiting for the final chapter. Did not think it would take 40 some odd years. Just think, she started research in 1972, so that's 39 years of Ayla & friends.

I love The Clan of the Cave Bear books!!! I started reading them in high school (somewhere around 1996) and waited and waited for The Land of the Painted Caves to be finished. As soon as I found out it was published I bought it!! I was a bit disappointed in the way it ended, but all in all a great, wonderful, and awesome series. I was thinking about starting the series again just the other day, but with all the crochet projects I've got going I don't know that I would really enjoy them right now. Good thing I've got my own set so I can read them whenever I want!!

They were all very good. The last few were very emotional and caused a deep spiritual experience for me. Now, I'm looking for "Kingdom Come", so I can read more about the characters.
