Handicrafter Cotton - New Colors!

Postby Shandeh » Mon Apr 09, 2012 10:34 pm

Tonight, after teaching piano lessons, I stopped by AC Moore, to see if there was a good sale on any yarns.

While I was there, I came across a BEAUTIFUL new color of Bernat Handicrafter Twists, called "Freshly Squeezed".

Yeah...I got it! ;)
I just love orange and yellow. And this also has a strand of pink running through it. Sweet! :inlove:

I think I'll go back again tomorrow night, because I saw another color I really like. I hope it's still there!

I was searching through some craft boxes and found very old balls of Handicrafter cotton from our plastic canvas days and the old colours are so dated looking!
We used to buy yarn not by the label but by how it would fill the plastic canvas area and what colour it was. Man, I had nearly forgotten about those days! We made my daughter and step daughter tons and tons of Barbie furniture / accessories and houses back then! My husband made his sons a farm set and a Thomas the Tank Engine and Nintendo Cube piggy bank from plastic canvas that he designed himself. Sometimes the cotton was the perfect thickness and colour!
Because of the many different ways we used to use yarn we have tons and tons of it around the house in the weirdest places!

I love hearing about how your whole family was involved in that craft project. You created memories together for everyone! That is such a treasure. And you can still see all the yarn you used? Even awesomer!! :)
