Has anyone come across this problem? I have been working the raglan edge as k2, k2tog. on the front piece, I am about to shape the neck. I have 65 stitches with the right side facing, When it comes to shaping the neck on this sweater, the pattern reads as follows:
k2, k2tog, k5 (neck edge). Leave rem sts on a spare needle. purl one row. dec one st at neck edge on next and following alt rows twice more. AT THE SAME TIME, cont dec at raglan edge as before on next and following alt rows until there are 2 sts. Purl one row. k2tog, bind off.
No matter how I work this, i end up with 3 stitches instead of two at the end. i am also purling the alt rows that i am not decreasing. Am I completely misreading this step? I am at a dead stop right now till i figure this out, as i need to repeat this step on the left side as well.
Please help....
