KAL Week 9

Postby Kaleigh » Wed Apr 11, 2012 10:00 am

Welcome to Week 9 of the Knit-Along!

“Wait a minute!” I hear you thinking. “I’m done my blanket, what else is left for me to do?!”

Well, from the beginning we’ve been saying this event runs through May even though the final clue for either afghan goes out this week. Instead of giving you another clue, we’re going to try something different.

Contests and a draw!

The Crochet-Alongers are making their borders this week, and we have to wait for them to finish before we can begin nominations. So this week, get caught up on your blankets if you haven’t finished, take some photos, and post them to the Forums. Next week, nominations begin! The details will be released then.

In the mean time I’ll be posting some discussion questions to the KAL/CAL Chatter board, so if you’re looking for something to do head over there and chat with us! You can also check out our other KALs and CALs at the Bernat Crochet-Alongs and Knit-Alongs board.

Based on the other postings, I know I am not the only one still far, far behind. How long do I have to finish in order to take part in the contests / draw?

Approximately two weeks, but don't worry if you're still behind - there are ways to enter without completing your blanket.

Cool! Contests and draws on top of all the fun we've already had? This should motivate us to really get finished up! Thanks for the extra two weeks - I need them for my top and bottom borders! Should be ready to go for top border tonight.

:bravo: I'm glad for the extra 2 weeks also!! Woohoo!! I'll probably have my 2nd border knitted by this evening and then I'll need to sew both of them onto the afghan. The top and bottom borders shouldn't take as long as the side ones, so...I may just make it! :D :knit: :cloud9:

Then again, as far back as I can ever remember Quebec has never ever ever been able to enter or win any contest. Though I did think those were only Canadian contests. And saying that, Bernat is a Canadian company. I always felt bad for anyone living there.

You're right about the laws - unfortunately we can't award Quebec residents with prizes, sorry :( But there will be some non-material prizes (bragging rights) so you can still participate if you'd like :)
