I absolutely *LOVE* what you did with this. It looks fantastic! The white edging is perfect with everything else you did. I like this better than the original layout.

Thanks Vallerisb & gailfort, I had to change the flowers, as I did this for my 7 year old grandson. I am going to add another row of white border to make it a little thicker. I'll be on the look out for your pictures.

My first mystery CAL is completed! :bravo: I know I will want to do this again!

I really enjoyed the project and I learned a lot! I also enjoyed all the posts on the forums. I am already thinking about what other afghan projects might be on my horizon!

I like tjwjlove's layout as well, better than the original...
Mine ended up being small...anxious to measure when I get done to compare with what it was supposed to be. But since all motifs were smaller, they fit together and that was the important part. I will have to say that I am VERY disappointed with the border. One row of single crochet is not much of a border. I know I will do something different, but if anyone out there has ideas, I'd love to hear! Last year's border was so pretty I was anxiously awaiting this year's border!

Here is my finished blanket!! yeah I am so glad to finish this project. It was so fun and I can't wait till the next time. I changed up one of the octagons and also the border. I was a little sad about the border I thought there would be something much fancier then a single crochet to go with the fancy blanket, but oh well it looks nice and it's done and can't complain much when it is a mystery crotchet. :)

You guys are so fast!!! I'm still finishing my seaming and I'm very jealous. I hit a mistake with one of my motifs that I neglected to fix at the time and I'm reluctant to go back and fix it. My blanket is currently in 'timeout' for the week, but this weekend I'll pull it out and finish it.

I'm going to wait to see what the more creative ladies on here do about the border, but I suspect the reason for the simple border is because the motifs themselves are so involved and detailed. Keeping the border simple keeps the attention on the motifs. Now having said that, I'm thinking about going a little wider - maybe using a dc or at least a hdc - but like I said, I'm going to wait for a bit and see what our rebel ladies come up with before I decide how to proceed! LOL

How obvious is the mistake? Would anyone notice but you? Does it affect your ability to seam the motifs together? If not, just keep going forward. :)
