Thank you!
Well, I offered this up to my daughter and she turned it down, which I knew she would do when I saw clue 2 and 6. But that was why I felt so strongly about finding other octagons to replace those two clues for my second afghan. Now I am confident I made the right decision and will try and get it completed before the end of the month. I still have about 10 motifs to make. I will also use an alternate design. This first one that I ended up following to a 'T' will go into the next wedding or big gift needed box and hopefully my daughter will prefer the second one so she can lay claim to it.
I also showed her one! She told me a few weeks ago I would never finish this (I have never finished a project that was more than one piece before) so I showed her one! I finished!
So, off to finish second CAL, and I need to try and knit a tidge everyday and eventually that KAL will also get done. Maybe by Christmas!
I am thrilled to death I have a finished gift for a mystery event yet to happen!!

I did this one exactly as the instructions, although I have to do the border yet tonight and will probably do that in a different color than MC. I don't blame your daughter for not liking this. It looks like a bunch of doilies that were sewn together. As much as I hate making projects that require piecing together, I think I am going to make another one with just motifs 2 & 4 and with a different layout.

I stayed there while staying in Syracuse visiting my Mom during her final days. I started the first clue when she went into the hospital and then into the nursing home. It gave my cousin and my Mom something to look forward to each week as I downloaded the clues and worked on it at the house and in my Mom's room. She talked about it with everyone that visited! She did not get to see the finished product, how sad. But it passed the time and united us in it's mystery, what would it look like? So we are now at the end of the afghan and at the end of my Mom's incredible life, that was evident to all that attended her funeral, what a special lady she was!! This afghan will always bring me memories of my Mom's final days and the adventure I had staying and re-uniting with a cousin that was such a good friend of mine when I was younger and saying goodbye to my Mom!
Thank you!!
