I've been seaming all week and this evening I had like maybe four motif's left when I took a look at it from afar and did not think the layout complimented my colors at all. So, I've spent the rest of the night frogging out the seams!

I guess I'm gonna be behind just a tad. After seeing all of your pictures of the border I'm leaning towards a shell stitch as well.

Bernat has had a new KAL and/or CAL every year since 2009.

2012 Mystery Blanket KAL/CAL

I imagine that there will be a new Bernat blanket project next year.

Until then, you can participate in our smaller KAL/CAL projects here in the Bernat Forum! :D
Right now, we are making the Bernat Satin Slouchy Lace Beret.

We are also making Dishcloths, Tea Cozies, and the Mermaid Tears Purse.

I HAVE LOTS OF WOOL LEFT.

Everyone uses different amounts of yarn for working their blanket. Some people ran out of yarn too early. So, be glad that didn't happen to you. ;)

Yes, the increases and decreases would need to be in the same spot.

You didn't offend me at all. You were just speaking your mind! ;)
I imagine that it's really difficult to design a blanket that will be appreciated internationally. I would not know how to BEGIN to do that.

fuffy wrote:although, the afghan pics people have posted are lovely - especially the ones that were not made according to the plan - I have to agree with the person who said this is not an attractive design. I am also disappointed with the finished product. I won't be doing another Bernat CAL again. :(

Wow! Hopefully, you will be motivate to try one of our smaller KALs or CALs. You can see the finished product beforehand with those. viewforum.php?f=253

Oh my goodness, you think you're a tad behind? My afghan is still in pieces!! I've narrowed the assembly down to 3 possible configurations. Initially I wasn't favouring the official layout, so started playing around with it. With so many inspiring designs on this forum, I came up with a few I really liked. Just for the heck of it, I tried the official layout and yikes...I like it too!!!

sigh...too many possibilities. This is worse than trying to pick the "perfect white" paint colour.
