About how much yarn did the border use? I've been playing with layers in Photoshop because I don't really like my A as the border. I do have at least one ball of each color left over. Did the border take a full ball? More than one?

I think my side borders took one skein and a little of another one. I don't know for sure as I started over on one side.
I have been using a size 7 needle for most of my squares and used again on the side borders, so I have lots of yarn leftover. I did use a size 8 on the end borders.

Hi Fuzzy Pumpkin. Love that name, by the way!
Each long border takes one full skein of 100g (that's right and left borders). Just a small handful of yarn will be leftover.
The last skein should get you your top and bottom borders if you do what the directions indicate.

So in total three full skeins.

If you want to modify your top and bottom borders and make them a bit wider to match the side borders, you will probably need part of a 4th skein.

I am still knitting the borders for clue 6; however I did download clue 7 and I don't understand it. Maybe after I sew my border pieces on it will be clear. I don't get the pick up and knit 17, k39x4,k16 but do not join?????

Do we just pick up 189 stitches and work in seed stitch pattern. To me these instructions are very confusing

Do not join means do not join the two ends together as you would if knitting in the round. It simply is reminding you to work back and forth in rows even though you're using circular needles. Hope that helps.

And yes, you pick up 189 stitches across. The "as follows:" is to help those who might be unsure of in what areas to pick up stitches, so they're evenly distributed. If you're confident about your ability to pick up and knit evenly, by all means works it out yourself!

Pick up the stitches for the bottom border now I have 6 rows of seed stitch and then I am finished I don't know if I am going to post a picture. Might be too embarrassing.

Name was given to me on another forum based on a comment I made about my high school French most likely resulting in my calling someone a fuzzy pumpkin. I'm also addicted to pumpkin, so it works.

I've actually decided to frog the CAL I did in the same yarn. I enjoyed doing it, but it just isn't my style. That way, I can use the color I want on the border of my KAL blanket (almost done with Clue 3!) without running out and I'll use the other yarn for a different blanket and maybe a pillow cover for my new-to-me-couch I'm getting in a week.
