Here are my 3 options.

The second one I stole (borrowed sounds much nicer, but let's call it what it is) from tjwjlove - aka "the stained glass" one. I would replace the 3 coloured Clue #1's with the white.

The long narrow one is a variation of that...bed scarf style. It's hard to see, but the sides taper down to a point.

And of course, the official layout.

I tried daverett's patterned granny to test also. Ahhhhh so many possibilites. My biggest thing is to try to kill some of the blankness of the mc. It is such a creamy-yellowy white that it almost looks dirty to me.

Please help, guys and dolls!

I'm partial to your second version.

europa66, I really like the second version too. Depending on how much yarn you have left maybe you could brighten it up with some of the multicolored edgings other people have used. Considering the given motifs from the clues, I think that is a very pleasing arrangement.

I think your colors are lovely...and any of the layouts look beautiful. This was not originally my suggestion, but one I "borrowed" from someone else on this forum. Try moving the popcorn squares to the outside border...and the mc squares to the inside. That breaks up the main color nicely. And if you use a different color for the border (someone suggested color B is the only one that doesn't touch the outside edge) I think that may solve your "blankness of the mc" problem.

As for which layout...I like them all. However, if I had to pick one it might be the last one, only because I feel all the lacy motifs lend themselves more to a bedskirt than an afghan.

Thank you so much, everyone for your help and kind comments. I've decided on the bed scarf. As I am left with a fair bit of yarn I think I shall try the multicoloured edgings suggested. Although a great suggestion, I've tried moving the popcorns to the outside, but am not a fan of the polka-dot effect of the mc mixed with the accent colours.

Thanks again, for your input. This queen of indecision will now get to seaming. Yikes...what a daunting thought. I've never seamed an afghan before.

Now...how to seam - in circles? strips? oh no, not another decision!

:bravo: Finally finished seaming blanket...WOOHOO!! Worst part of this whole experience. I am so glad that it's almost finished. I was soooo tempted to put aside in favor of other projects.

Here it is:

I also had to include a photo of my helper. He assisted in testing out the softness of the yarn. :D

Will do my border later...off to enjoy some of this spring weather....should have been out a long time ago but I wanted to finish this seaming.

I like the 'stained glass' version also!! It is the layout I 'borrowed' from tjwjlove. Still have to decide on the border, I like the seed stitch. I have used that pattern before & always liked the outcome. Good luck with your decision. I had 3 layouts on my living room floor before dear hubby pleaded with me to pick one & get on with it. ;)

Ok I am editing what I just wrote (really should read all posts before giving my '2 cents' worth. The bed scarf will be a lovely piece. Best of luck, remember, crocheting is a fun & relaxing hobby!
