thanks for the blocking tips knitters. I was also happy to hear that it takes about 25 repeats to reach the intended measurements for the border. I have done 10 so far so I am almost half way there :crown: It's going to look terrific. My expectations of how great it would look are far exceeded!!! I couldn't have picked a better pattern for my first afghan. I wonder if one person is responsible for this blanket pattern, or if it was a joint effort :hrmm:

It's done! :D I got the first long border done last night!! I really like the looks of it beside the afghan. Haven't started the 2nd border yet, but will soon.

I think we've got the same rhythm going, KnitKnacker! I just started my right side border this evening. The first one is attached now.

:hellogoodbye: K1P1quebec, you're a little ahead of me because I don't have my left-side border sewn on yet. :D But, yes, we aren't far off from each other! Happy knitting and sewing! :knit: :cloud9:

 Finally finished the left and right borders. Have to sew them on now. Having the same issue with the borders folding, :tears: but I want to sew them on anyway, so I can do the top and bottom and be finished with it. I am still not feeling the love for my colors together. Love them separately, but not together. Oh, well, live and learn. ;)

:hellogoodbye: I really wish I had used a different combination of colors for my afghan too!! I feel the same way about mine. This is my first KAL. I'm really not sure if I'll do another one because I really hate sewing the squares together! But the mystery part and the forums have been fun. :)

I finally finished all my squares. So tonight I will finish blocking so I can start sewing. Right now I have started my left border....I have a question - How wide is it to be before blocking? mine is about 4 inches but boy does it look tiny. Is it suppose to be really thin? I'm just starting and I don't want to get thru half of it and realize I need to rip it out.

:hellogoodbye: My side borders are 4" wide. :D It may look tiny because you're used to knitting the wide squares. You can go to the spoiler and photos thread to see the pictures that other people have posted of their afghans. It sounds like you're probably on the right track with your border! :crown: Good luck to you and happy knitting! :knit:

 YAY!! I just finished sewing the side borders onto my afghan!! I laid my afghan out on our pool table and that was the easiest place for me to work. I'm so glad that all my sewing together for this afghan is done! Woohoo!! :crown: Now...off to the end borders! I don't mind picking up stitches to knit. I can't wait to see it all done! Very excited! :cloud9:
