Congratulations needlenut on this exquisite afghan! A joy to look at. It will be a treasure for many, many years to come. The colors remind me of the Great Lakes!

Thank you! It is the perfect size for me. I have already had 3 good naps under it while I was supposed to be watching the television!

karenarp wrote:This is stunning needlenut. I adore your colour choices, it really makes the waves come alive. I really really want to make this, so maybe in the fall my hand will be all better and I can pick up my knitting needles with the others that want to make this then. Was told when you damage a nerve it takes about a day to heal 1 mm - measure the distance from the damage to the brain in mm's and that is how many days it will take to heal.

About how many minutes per night would you say you spent on this? Keeping us updated on your progress has been totally inspiring to me. Thank you for the extra time you spent updating us

Hi karenarp! Hope you are healing well. I had a section of my collarbone removed last August, takes a while to recover. I started this afghan exactly 6 months and 1 day after my surgery. They said I would be OK in 6 months and I was. I had to "wake" my hands back up after each row so I had the project out for about an hour and a half to 2 hours per night, but actual knitting time would probably have been closer to 1 hour.

BuckeyeMom wrote::bravo: This is a beautiful afghan. I love the pattern. I did learn from this. I have a problem with keeping the pattern going without making a mistake somewhere along the line. I noticed in your first picture that you used stitch markers. So, I decided to try that on one that I am making for my granddaughter. I started over and used the markers. So far, it has made it easier for me to follow the directions and not make a mistake. Thank you. :notworthy:

Stitch markers are a lifesaver. I put them between each pattern repeat. That way, if you make a mistake, you find it right away and can fix it without ripping out a lot of hard work.

My dd asked if I could make her an afghan and she wants it made in the Waverly. She loves how soft my KAL blanket is.

I am thinking that I will go with the Princess, as my 3rd colour.

good choice. I think that will be very pretty and that she will be very happy :cloud9:
