If it has been steam blocked, it is probably permanently stretched. Might not work as well as fresh yarn.

If it has been damp blocked, it will be fine. Just unravel and re-use.

Okay...so since my original post on this issue was deleted because I happened to post a picture of another brand of yarn (oh no the world's gonna end!!) I have decided to repost without mentioning the brand of yarn that I purchased. Anywho....so, I bought this yarn ( the mesh type stuff that everybody's making scarves out of here lately) at Hobby Lobby (I'm assuming I can at least mention the store that I bought the yarn at). I tried knitting with it on my aluminum knitting needles and couldn't keep the stuff on the needles for love nor money. I then tried to crochet with it, but had a really hard time keeping up with where I was supposed to be putting the stitches. Not to mention that it seems to look better knitted than crocheted. Then I had a small stroke of genius....I'd use my Knook!!! The meshy type yarn stays on the cord of the knook really well, it's easy to work with since I'm not trying to hold onto two needles and the yarn....wonderful tool.

So, after going through all that crap I'm fairly well convinced that I probably won't be working with that yarn too terribly often. I think it's more than my poor little brain can handle. Anyway, I hope I've obeyed all the rules in this post. If not then I hope the world doesn't collapse in on me.

Sounds like you got doubly frustrated with the yarn and the posting. So sorry!
But glad you found a use for your knook! I have seen meshy yarn in store, have no idea what brand, but I do stand there and just imagine it must be a nightmare to do something with it. The patterns that I have seen, which are usually scarves, don't know who wrote them, just don't do a thing for me so yarn was never a temptation. But I am glad you tried it and found a way that worked for you to use it.
But I have been tempted...I bought some knitting needles the other day. Finding a place to put them until I have the time to try them is already a problem. Also they are so long I don't think I will be comfortable using them. But will look at some videos and give it a try in the next week or so. Have narrowed it down to continental style so that's a start. Have a feeling I will be trying the knook too and having better luck but who knows.

After the frustration, I'm finding the yarn easier to work with the longer I work with it. It's not a yarn that works up quickly. On an even brighter note (need a sarcasm font here) my toddler found my scarf and pulled out almost half of the work that I had done. The weave of the mesh makes it almost impossible to pick up missed stitches so I'm probably going to have to frog it and start all over again. Oh well, I guess with practice comes perfection. I am hoping to have this scarf done by Sunday (April 22) as a gift for my little sister. Guess I'll be pulling some late nights this weekend!!!

I got a gift certificate from a friend from that Knit Your Pick place. I got two of the big clear plastic totes which I love. I also got some marked down Dishyrag thread(I refuse to call it yarn!) The colors were just so bright and nice, I couldn't resist...wish I had. I would be hard pressed to call it DK size...maybe between a 2 and 3 rating. Definetly NOT worsted weight It WILL not mix well with Handicrafter or Lily.

Ladycath--thanks for info about Dishie. At one time I was tempted to order some to try it. I will stick with my beloved Handicrafter and Sugar 'n' Cream. I love the huge color selection and the reasonable price. To me there's just NO cotton yarn like it.
Oh, by the way, KnitPicks' birch knitting needles are awesome--they spoil you. . .
