Maybe this is because I am not a Canada resident, but I do not quite understand this under Notification of Winner:

"If the winner is a citizen of Canada, a mathematical skill testing question will be administered and must be correctly answered before an entrant is declared to be a winner."

Is there a special law in Canada that you have to pass a math test to win a contest? :idonno:

There is indeed. You can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skill_testing_question

It's so hard to pick which one is my favourite! There are some really beautiful blankets in both the KAL and the CAL.

:hellogoodbye: As I view the nomination pages I'm getting the feeling that people are under the impression that they can only nominate one afghan per category. Also it seems as though folks are waiting to nominate until they can see all of the afghans posted. My understanding of the contest rules is that many nominations can be made by one person but when the voting begins only one vote per category is accepted.

So, what I am doing is creating a folder of all of my favorite afghans which I will nominate so they can be eligible for the voting round. If other "favorites" are posted later I can also nominate those as long as they are posted before the deadline.

Bernat Ladies please let me know if this is correct or not????????

Thanks!

I share your understanding. I think we can nominate more than one for any category, but only vote for one when the voting starts...

You are right, Marilyn! You can nominate as many afghans as your heart desires. When it comes time to vote, you will only be able to cast one vote per category.

I read through everything today because I was a bit confused, too. I was wondering how come nominations were open if people have until May 7 to post photos in final photos. How do we not miss those entries?

Then I wasn't sure if there were going to be two sets of categories : a set of 4 for the CAL and 4 for the KAL? Or just 4 total? And if such is the case, why are we separating the final photo categories into CAL and KAL? There are over 40 pages in CAL finished photos, many of which are border directions and congratulations messages and pet hair problems that my head is spinning. I'm afraid I'll miss something and it's very hard to remember what I've all seen. I think it's à very good idea to create à folder...that should help. But then again, if something has already been nominated, it will get put into the final voting round, so am I correct in assuming that only one nomination is needed? Why repeat a nomination if the action has already been taken by someone else?

And can I nominate things in CAL even if I didn't do one, and vice versa?

In the meantime, I'm going to try to figure out the flickr thing. Maybe that's what I need - just one place to see just photos of finished afghans, and write them all down.
