Finally finished! I was really good about following the pattern exactly until it came to the border. I ended up doing one round of sc in colour B, one round of hdc in colour A, one round of ladder stitch in MC, and one round of sc in colour D. I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out. The only concern I had with the project was the week 6 clue; it doesn't hold its shape as well as the others so when I hold the afghan up that area stretches a lot.

I am so happy that I took part in this CAL. I learned a lot from everyone, and I really enjoyed the camaraderie of going through this process together. All the afghans look wonderful :inlove:

Well I finally finised my blanket. I tried and retried different borders and finally I'm happy with it. I confess I did not come up with the layout, but saw it on the Blanket Possibilities thread and really liked it. My colors look well with my living room and I'm very happy with my blanket. It's been alot of fun!
Colors are Birch White, Greek Sea, Aqua Frost, Colonial Beige and Bark. Now here's hoping my picture works :)

I was not sure about the colours I picked out but once the afghan was completed I liked them! They are not usual colours I would normally pick out. I only wish this afghan was bigger although it is big enough to keep ones legs warm :cloud9:
This is the first afghan I have ever put together. I was really afraid to sew it together and put it off for a week or so but once I started I wondered what I was so afraid of!

What a beautiful afghan! I can't believe it's your first one. :o

Thank you to the Bernat team for excellent enthusiasim and advice and all the many hours you all spent making sure we got through this and keeping our sprits up! Thank you to all the wonderful people here who also posted tips, advice and especially their stories and letting us into their lives, I am sorry for your losses. My dad always used to joke about Mr. Nobody too! Although I was a silent participant through most of it, when I did need help the responses were very quick and informative. I originally was thinking of giving this as a gift, however, as it came closer to being finished and hearing all the stories that brought back many memories of my Nonna(who taught me to knit) and my dad who I lost a year and a half ago, my girls turned 13 and 16 through this as well, I really like my afgan and realized I need to gift it to ME!
Thank you to dogfoster and karenarp with the seaming help! Also thanks to Evana85 I decided to also do the arcade border.
I have loved looking at all the different afgan photos and hope with experience I will be more confident and be able to be as creative as you all have been thanks for the inspirations.

Congratulations on finishing your afghan! :bravo:
I'm so glad you made some good friends here. That's one of my favorite parts of the Bernat Forum. :D

Let your hubby have it! :)

He got an Amish Bars Throw I did a few months ago. He supports and compliments everything I do and would gladly keep it all. I have to give some away or I would be buried. This one is going to go into a silent auction basket for Diabetes Scholars Foundation. Several of us mom's that have kids with Type 1 donate stuff for different auctions to go into a "mom's" basket.

You are very blessed to have such an encouraging husband!
