Crochet Along: Finished Blanket Photos

Here's my 3rd one with my official tester or as I call her quality control. She has rolled on all 3 of them so I think she will be getting a blanket made with the scrap yarn of these

I finished my Mystery Afghan 2012 last week. I decided to go around the outside in sc with each color (4 rows)and then took another person's suggestion and used the block edging using the MC around the very outside. And I am pleased with the results. I used yarn that had been donated to our church and tried to find colors that were pleasing together. The MC was a bit softer yarn and so those motifs are a bit "floppy" which is why I wanted to do a more substantial border. Size is 40" by 55" so it did end up smaller than it was supposed to be and that's even with the added border. It will make a nice lap blanket. I am pleased and would like to thank Bernat for offering this fun alternative to winter boredom!

You did a great job of putting donated yarns together for a lovely blanket! They all work together very well.

Here is mine All the colors coordinate with the colors in my livingroom. Very happy with how it turned out. I used all Bernat waverly yarn, and followed the pattern exactly.

Finally finished! I was really good about following the pattern exactly until it came to the border. I ended up doing one round of sc in colour B, one round of hdc in colour A, one round of ladder stitch in MC, and one round of sc in colour D. I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out. The only concern I had with the project was the week 6 clue; it doesn't hold its shape as well as the others so when I hold the afghan up that area stretches a lot.

I am so happy that I took part in this CAL. I learned a lot from everyone, and I really enjoyed the camaraderie of going through this process together. All the afghans look wonderful

Oh, I just LOVE those colors! They make me feel very relaxed and at peace. Great job on your blanket!

Well I finally finised my blanket. I tried and retried different borders and finally I'm happy with it. I confess I did not come up with the layout, but saw it on the Blanket Possibilities thread and really liked it. My colors look well with my living room and I'm very happy with my blanket. It's been alot of fun!
Colors are Birch White, Greek Sea, Aqua Frost, Colonial Beige and Bark. Now here's hoping my picture works

Here is my finished blanket. I'm not too sure about the brown but it is too late to change it now. I had to use stash yarn for this. I had so much fun and learned alot. This got me out of my comfort zone and made me try something new. I did have a devil of a time with clue 6 so I did clue 5 in my green. I did a sc followed by a 5dc shell border. This is for my grandma who inspired me to learn crochet. I will be waiting for the next CAL.

I love your border, if I ever get mine finally put together I might borrow your idea. Great job on your afghan!!
