I bought my yarn today, stash made and I am ready to go!!!! that is as soon as I finish my border on my Cal. Oh my, I never had so many WIP in such short notice, (knit Cable sweater, knit slouchy lace beret, the valentine monster and finally Satin crochet cardigan) Thank God the weather is still a little cold, we even had snow last night, not that it stayed on the ground but the daffodils look a little sad!!

I'd say more a dark maroony purple. It is eggplant dark but when light hits it you see sparks of dark maroon. It is definetly NOT Cadbury purple...and I'm just a little, tiny, microscopicly acquainted with Cadbury's purple  I'm not addicted to Cadbury's Dark at all or any other European dark chocolate...that's my story and I'm sticking to it

Of course! I just added you to the list.
I think those colors will work wonderfully for your cardigans!

Shandeh,
I'm leaning toward the Forest Mist Heather. Are the heathers considered to be a solid or an Ombre? The yardage for the ombre's is about 20% less than for the solids. Just wondering, in case I have to order, I want to make sure to get enough the first time.

My local Joanne's has a pretty good selection of the Satin yarn, and I have a coupon good for 20% off an entire purchase on May 2 only. With their regular price on this yarn at $3.49, that is a very good deal for the sweater!

Change in plans... my daughters thought the sweater was too lacy to be practical for the office. So I will make one for me- out of Paton's Lace Sequin in Amber. Should be good for special occasions when a wrap would be too fussy. :hellogoodbye:

I have some "Wine Mist Heather" in my stash, and it is 163 yards per skein.

Thanks! It looks like I will need an extra ball if I go that route. I may just choose whatever is available in the store to take advantage of the sale price. Since I'm trying to finish the blanket for the granddaughter, it will probably be about that long before I'm ready to start the sweater. :knit:

Good plan! You deserve a pretty, lacy crochet cardigan! Be sure to work up a gauge swatch with that yarn.

OK.....I know I said I wasn't going to work on this until I had finished my current WIP....but, I couldn't resist. (Besides I'm tired of ripples, and figured a break would be a good thing....what's another couple of days? )

So, last night I decided to have another go at this stitch pattern, and ....I LOVE IT! :cloud9: Foundation row.....not so fun, but everything after that is smooth sailing. The stitch chart is a god-send. I'm not sure how I figured out how to crochet without them!

I used some white Satin that I had since stitches are easier to see in the light colors, and made a swatch to match the condensed chart in the directions. Not especially liking the chain-3 edges, but I think they will be worked into the edging on the finished item.
