I just heard about the CAL after week 6 so I am way behind but have been having so much fun looking at everyones results. Thank you everyone. Your hard work has paid off. Since I started so late, I am hopeful I can get in at the beginning next time. Do you notify members when a new CAL is going to begin?

So glad you enjoyed it!

This got me out of my comfort zone and made me try something new. I did have a devil of a time with clue 6 so I did clue 5 in my green. I did a sc followed by a 5dc shell border. This is for my grandma who inspired me to learn crochet. I will be waiting for the next CAL.

Our designs are almost alike. I like the center flower. Great Job

afghan 4-23-12 001.JPG
Here is my finished afghan, the edges curl for some reason. I wish i would have used the lighter green for the main color but it turned out alright.

Hi crafter 111,Thank you, For the border I made a couple of sc rows, and then a row of 3 petal flower and a row of cluster on top of and between the petal. Here is a close up photo. If you want more info on how the flowers and the clusters were made just let me know

I agree! Your border is beautiful... I would love to use this on my 2nd CAL that I am making for my mom's 85th birthday. I would appreciate more info on how to make it... Thank you for sharing! :bravo:

I have been having the most horrible time getting it together. What is the secret? I cannot tell you how many times I have had to take it apart and start over!! I want to take it outside and burn it but the yarn is fire retardant and would only leave a melted pile of plastic as a forever reminder!! I am going to give it one more try and hopefully it will be done and I can do the border.

I finished my afghan last night after frogging out my shell round because I didn't have enough yarn to make it all the way around. I'm trying to post the pictures but for some reason picresize.com doesn't want to work today! Go figure it's just my luck!

Are you having problems with the layout or the stitching method?

This is really pretty! I would never have thought to use the green with the blues; but it makes an appealing eye-catching statement. Another job well done! :bravo:
