Beautiful blanket! Great job! I love the border and you're right. Looks very feminine.

Very pretty Karla.

Others have mentioned their edges curl. Don't know yet on mine. I still have to do the border.

Love the purple. Very pretty! The photo isn't too big and just a little blurry.

Nice work,
Laina :-)

I apologize in advance if it is too big. I sampled it and my photo looks really blurry.

There are so many beautiful blankets and stories to go along with them and so many friendly people here. Thank you Bernat and all you ladies for making this such a fun place to share our love of crochet! Though I've been crocheting for about 16 years, I have learned alot here.

Having finished my blanket I sat watching tv with my hubby last night and my hands felt empty with nothing to work on after being so busy the last couple of months. My hubby of course said that now I could focus on the tv show :) I wanted to start a baby blanket for a lady in my church who is expecting, but the baby is due soon and I'm having hand surgery next Monday so I don't think I'll be crocheting for a bit . . . but it is my left hand so maybe I wouldn't need to use it as much. Instead I covered myself with my pretty new blanket and enjoyed the show.

Sorry to hear about your hand I hope it isn't serious. Cute story tho
sounds like your husband is like mine. I was working on my border all day today and hubby says aren't you done yet? I just glared. I know I'll feel the loss too.

I gave in and started the baby blanket yesterday even though it won't be finished before the surgery. It's minor surgery, well a short procedure anyway, and I'm hoping the recovery time isn't too long. But if the surgery works it will be nice to crochet, play with my 4 yr old and even do dishes without pain! It's been 3 years since I injured it.

I see your glare at your hubby must have worked because your blanket is all done and pictures posted. It's very pretty!

I hope all goes well and I'm praying for a speedy recovery.
Hubby thinks his glares affect me lol they don't.
Thank you for the compliment. It wasn't until I did the border that I started to like it.

Thanks Laina!

I have more pictures on my flickr page I would've posted them here but picresize has a temperament!

Ack! Don't do that! :stop: It'd be really sad! I'm assuming you're having problems with seaming? I don't know how to do the sewing version, but I do find it really easy to either sc each piece together or sl st it together. It was recommended that if you were going to sc or sl st your pieces together that you work through the back loops only. I sl st'd mine together through the back loops only.

If you're having trouble with the number of stitches per edge, fudge it! You can skip a stitch here or there, and you can also connect two stitches on one edge to one stitch on another edge. As long as you space these out, it'll look fine. Start at the corners!

This is a really great video for showing you how to put together squares (or octagons!)

GOOD LUCK!

Are you talking about seaming? You will find a lot of seaming tips in this discussion: SEAMING

The main thing to keep in mind when seaming is to not seam too tightly, or it will pucker. Also, don't seam too loosely, or it will come apart. The seam yarn should look like it's the same gauge as the knitting. It should all blend in together.

What seaming technique are you using?
