I have just finished this Beret for my daughter and it turned out very nice. I used 4 needles, but did have to concentrate as they do tend to drop off if you are not careful, also a lovely pattern, but not one that you can do if there are too many distractions around - needs plenty of concentration, but worth it in the end. Good luck with it everyone! :D

Shandeh,
I found a cache of your instructional videos in this beret topic. I really like your videos, I can actually see what you are doing-big yarn, big needles, contrasting background. It would help me a lot if in any of the videos I have looked at if they would show the finished technique being taught and compare it with standard knit or purl. For example knitting through the back loop. I am so new at knitting, so I don't know what I would be trying to accomplish by doing this. A comparison would be helpful to me.
I got a big kick out of the DPN video! Kudos to all who can do that, I am too clumsy!
Is there a place in the Bernat forum where all of the videos are consolidated in one topic for those learning to knit and /or crochet? I just happened upon these while admiring everyone's berets. It is nice to post appropriate videos with particular projects but would be great to have them all together in one place too so everyone could reference to them as needed.

I'm glad you like my videos! :) I try to make them as I see a need for one.

Just finished knitting this beret today. Sorry no picture, made the hat in black and can't seem to get a good shot of it. I used circular needle until the last 2 rows. Just found this KAL and I am already finished. Oh well.

I sometimes get a good photo in black yarn if I edit the photo with Picasa, increasing the brightness until the stitches show. You can download Picasa free, and use it for photo editing. I use it all the time.

Nothing is easy to find! I can't find the clues for the mystery afghan nor the slouch. I see the postings in the forum but when I type in questions, I get nonsense about my wording, no matter how I ask. Oh well, did the mystery afghan last year and enjoyed it. Have never been able to find them this year. Your site seems to have changed.

Here is the pattern for the beret
http://www.bernat.com/data/pattern/pdf/ ... n+Promo+1a

I don't know which afghan you wanted to make, the knitted or the crocheted one. But for both you need to go to the main forum page (Hit board index) then at the top you will see mystery crochet and mystery knitted. Open up whichever one you want to do, in all those topics look for one stop reference. There are the patterns, photos, and what you need to get started. Don't know how you have your posts dated to show, but either look in the first or end of each clue for the pattern.
