Just commenting on this --will probably not do another mystery KAL because of this. Patty

Hi Patty, the main color in the KAL is Contrast A. It was used in Clue #4 as well as in the border.

Hi I am sorry--- I didn't do Clue 4--yet--so forgot it was used in that square.
But still would have used more of A , which was off white in it if I had known the layout in advanced.
Thanks for pointing out my mistake

Ty for KAL

Postby Sami » Tue May 01, 2012 12:17 pm

:bravo:
Here I am over a month behind but with what I'm hoping is a good excuse, LOL. I was having serious vision problems , had an eye exam and am now two weeks post-op cataract surgery. In two weeks I will have my other eye operated on , then viola , some new glasses and I'll be back to my knitting. I have my squares completed and while I'm way behind schedule I'm looking forward to completing my afghan. I say TY because if I hadn't started this project I would not have realized how compromised my vision had become and I'd not be seeing so much better already.
I love the feel of the Waverly for Bernat yarn and I'm so looking forward to completeing and using my Afghan.
Thanks again Bernat and KAL.

I finished my squares on time but absolutely hated any of the possible layouts. I'm sorry, but I refuse to make something I wouldn't be proud to give as a gift, so I knitted additional squares in colors that looked better together. I have put one afghan together and am working on the second. Also, I have had enough of "sewing" squares together. I usually avoid seaming as much as possible in all my projects. I finished my first afghan with a crocheted edge.

I enjoyed the KAL but will be much more conservative in any future color selections.

Knit Along

Postby byerger » Wed May 30, 2012 12:25 am

Is there any way to see the various pictures that were submitted? This was my first knit-along and I was not able to complete mine in time to participate in the voting, but I would love to see the knit afghans. I was disappointed that there were no winners to view in the knit along category.

Hi Betty,
There's a dedicated thread in the KAL section for picture submissions, which were gathered into this thread, here. It's got all of the pictures together so you don't have to go through lots of pages to find them! Hope this helps you out :)

Still Knitting

Postby laurieontheroad » Fri Jun 01, 2012 12:12 pm

Slowly but surely - have finished all squares except Clue 3. Had to rip out 3 squares that I had knit before correction - only have 2 done. Still need to block most of squares but am working to finish afghan before I need it this winter....LOL
