MyBreak2Day wrote:It was a difficult decision and I should take the good advice offered and think about it for a day or so, but Joann's has 30% off and free shipping on $40, so I've decided on the Town and Country colors - Navy (main color), Stone Brown, Gypsy Gold, Antique & Tibetan Red.

That's a great sale!

Shandeh, have I mentioned lately that you're my bestest friend? :notworthy:

But it seems lame to stick so firmly within one color pallette when there are so many beautiful colors out there! But I do like the Simplicity line the best out of them all, even though they don't really go with my decor :cloud9:

And, with all the extra that I have left, I'm thinking of getting one (or more!) of the pattern books and making some coordinating pillows. I've never been a huge fan of throw pillows, but I LOVE so many of them in the pattern books! :inlove:
Life's too short to knit angry ;-)

If you go to the website and look at the Waverly booklets (click on each picture and it shows what colors are in the project). Down below on the pictures it will show the same design done in other colorways for the afghans. This might help you choose your colors. I had picked mine out already and after I looked at the pictures I was happy with my choices. I am useing pink suede, porcelain red, sundrift, willow and incense for my afghan.

I noticed those pillow patterns too! They are gorgeous.... :inlove:
I think we all might have enough yarn left to make some of those.

This is my first Bernat CAL! Actually, my first CAL ever. *sheepish grin*

I'm not one to go along with the suggested color scheme and it seems that I'm not alone in this decision, lol.

I decided to go with Breath of Blue, Gypsy Gold, Aqua Frost, Antique, and Birch White.

This afghan will probably end up as a bedspread for my bedroom.

Can't wait to get started!

This is my second Bernat CAL, the stitch group I belong to all did the 2010 Mystery CAL and we had such a good time! I chose Antique for my main color with accents of Gypsy Gold, Tibetan Red, Cadet, and Stone Brown! Feb 15 seems like a long way away...

So what do you think about the Past Perfect colors with Greek Sea rather than Celadon? I was thinking
Mauve Glow
Pink Flower
Greek Sea
Blue Gown
Breath of Blue

Re: colours to chose

So I am also looking to use colors in the Beautiful realm. My living room has the deep red, pale yellow and olive green. However, this is my first time to do a KAL and I am very nervous and excited at the same time. I first learned to crochet when I was 8 y.o. and learned to knit when my husband had cancer. Knitting was more portable than a sewing machine!! LOL! My oldest son, now 18, learned to knit, too. I love socks and felted bags, as well as afgans, so this will be an adventure, I'm sure! I'll take any advice y'all can give
!
