Harvest Blanket

Postby craftycanuck » Fri Apr 27, 2012 2:01 pm

Has anyone made this blanket?

How quick was it to knit up?

I found out last night that my niece is getting married in a month and I would like to give her something special for her wedding present. Or does anyone have a simple blanket pattern that will knit up quickly?

Thanks!

I have that blanket in process, but I've been dragging my feet working on it. It is made in strips, knit back and forth, then seamed together. I think it would take longer than a month to make. I don't know of any blankets that could be knitted that quickly.....except for the ones made with 3 strands of yarn held together at the same time. But, I'm not a big fan of those blankets. There are some CROCHET blankets that work up quickly, though.

I am thinking that I might make a pillow and attach a note saying that I am working on a blanket. Know any pillow patterns that would work with that Afghan?

Thanks!

Here's a link to the pattern: http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=2848

Are you working Panel 1?
In the 2nd row of that panel, you will do a (K1, P1, K1) all in one stitch, then do a P3 together.
You will repeat those things over and over again until you get to the last stitch. Then you will knit that last stitch.

I'm making a chunky cable blanket. It knits up very quickly. It is a wedding present for my cousin who is getting married this summer. Here is the link to the thread:

Thanks zhanie but the link in the thread just brought me to free patterns page not the afghan :( I would love to see which afghan you are doing!

I ended up going with the Bernat Textured Afghan. I won't have it done in time for the wedding but there will be enough do that I can give them a sneak peek. I am doing it in Lush and Natural - Bernat Super Value yarn.

The Chunky Cable blanket pattern is no longer available on the Bernat site, since the older version of Softee Chunky yarn is discontinued. But you can see the pattern page on Ravelry here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library ... anket-2809
