Hi K1P1quebec! :hellogoodbye: I love the pillow-- it is Andu-licious! :D The ecru color is so nice! :inlove:
That stitch works up really fast. Especially on those needles! What stitch have you decided on for your pinwheel pillow? I like to use 99 Knit Stitches (Leisure Arts.) It is where I found the Trinity stitch. (Andulusian stitch is compliments of Sarah White, About.com.) The ivory color you are using would work really well for Trinity stitch, too!
Well, here is my pillow, as a WIP and a FO. It will be my mom's Mothers Day gift. I think it turned out pretty nice. :)
Cheers! ~~ mm :knit:

Oh, I like that! Yep, definitely would look Nice in my off-white. I also have a light yellowish/beige colour called Sundrift that would work well. I have used up all my partial skeins of off-White and have started a new one. I'm 2/3 of the way now. I'm doing a rectangle which I Will fold and sew on 3 sides.

Here are the 4 extra too-large squares from the afghan project. I'm thinking of doing the back in either this rib stitch or the Heel stitch (which says is excellent for a sturdy fabric for cushions) in the darker blue colour, of which I have a lot of leftovers. Sorry for the sideways angle; don't see how to flip it. You can click on photos to enlarge.

Forgot to mention my stitch reference. It's Knitting Stitches Visual Encyclopedia by Sharon Turner. 350 stitch patterns, edgings and more. It's divided into categories : knit/purl combinations, rib, lace, cables, edgings and borders, twist stitches, bobbles and other textures, slip stitch patterns, creative combinations and basic colour combinations and motifs (simple jacquard, argyle, intarsia ideas, fair isle, etc.). I got this one at my local library. I have other reference books too but this one is easy to use, colourful, and tells you what each stitch is best used for, or at least ideas on what to make with it. I found the Andalusian stitch in here also, as well as the Trinity stitch. She says Trinity is also known as bramble stitch and is wonderful for hems, cuffs, collars and slouchy lined bags, or framing central cable panels on Aran sweaters. And we can also add pillows to the list!

:D K1P1quebec--that pinwheel pillow is so awesome! :notworthy: :bravo: Thanks for photos! What a treat!
What technique are you using to block your white pillow? Wet or damp blocking? I like the very crisp look it has!
And Thanks for the 2 new stitch patterns! I will jot them down or google them. . .I love how they are so elegant and easy at the same time!
Thanks for sharing all this knowledge!

Hi.
I usually use my portable clothes steamer, but this time I couldn't holding such a big piece vertically, so I used a spray mist bottle of water. Seems to be doing its thing.
The pinwheel squares are leftover oversize tragedies/catastrophes from the afghan. The whole thing measures 20 inches square. I decided on the Heel stitch for the backing and it's Nice and thick and strong, and going quickly. I think this one is going to be a floor/lounging/pillow fight kind of pillow and I'm going to give my teenage boys free reign with it!
