Crochet Along: Finished Blanket Photos

I have a border on my first complete afghan!!! I love having it on me, I cannot stop feeling it's soft blocks, my little ones love crawling on my lap and cuddling under it, wiggling their feet through the holes.

Hi, Thanks to all for sharing. It's been a real pleasure reading the posts and seeing all the beautiful afghans. I don't know how you guys and gals find the time for all the posting (with all the crocheting going on!) but I am oh-so-glad you do! So maybe I'll share a bit too.....

Azim your blanket is gorgeous! I love the colors and the design. Beautiful work! I think your story of your boyfriend taking the blanket to work is very cute Pieces of mine have made many trips to my work since my friend from work is doing the CAL with me. We had been comparing our progress on a weekly basis. A few weeks ago we were avidly checking out borders in the completed blankets thread and our boss walked by. My friend quickly said, "Put up a work screen" which I did. Our boss stopped, looked and said, "What are you two doing?" to which my friend replied, "Analyzing". All was well until she walked from my desk back to her own and there was my blanket piled up in the middle of my desk. Our boss just started to laugh and said, "Oh I see, analyzing"

Again great work on your blanket. I absolutely love it!

Actually I too spent many hours just looking at my pieces and moving them around, analyzing many options and finally embracing the final layout. As I am sure may did. This is how I did my border:

First 2 rows: sc around

Next row, (3 petal flower, color A): slip st first 4 st working back loop, in next st, (1sc, 3ch, 1tr, 3ch, 1sc, 3ch, 1tr, 3ch, 1sc, 3ch, 1tr, 3ch, 1 sl st.(flower made)
*slip stitch next 9 sts working back loop, in next st. (1sc, 3ch, 1tr, 3ch, 1sc, 3ch, 1tr, 3ch, 1sc,, 3ch 1tr, 3ch, 1sl st* repeat* * around ending with 5 sl st working back loop. break color A

Next row (cluster color B): 1sl st in first sl st of last row, 4 ch, 1sl st on top of first petal, 4ch, 2trtog, 1 sl st on top of 2nd petal, 4 ch, 2trtog, 1 sl st on top of 3rd petal, 4ch, skip next 4 sl st, *in next sl st,1sc, 2 ch, 1dc, 3ch, 1 sl st, 4 ch, 1 sl st on top of first petal, 4ch, 2tr tog, 1sl st on top of second petal, 4 ch, 2 trtog, 1 sl st on top of 3rd petal 4 ch, skip next 4 sl st.* Repeat* * around ending with 1sc, 2ch, 1dc, 3ch, 1 sl st in first sl st of beg of row. break off!
