Feeling pretty proud of myself right now :crown: I finished my CAL last night, all my loose ends are tucked in and I'm quite happy with the way it came out. This is my first major crochet project and now I am ready to keep going with the multitude of projects I have racing through my head!!

Here is the finished product and then a close up of the border (thank you to mdmfoo for the border instructions. I only did the chain portion on the 2 corners with octagons and then just did single row of each of the colors since I was running out of yarn)

We too have been lurking in the background as we've participated in this venture. Just wanted to let you know my daughter and I have enjoyed this mystery CAL. It's our first and we hope to participate in more to come. The support of this forum was tremendous. It was our first CAL, first afghan made from individual pieces, first adult afghan, first time using Waverly yarn, first time to post pictures (hoping it works). Thank you to all who posted. The creativity is unbelievable. I enjoyed the softness of the waverly yarn and the photos of others' afghans made it hard for me to choose a completed layout so I went with the original and will choose another when I made my next afghan. I used the Waverly Simplicity colors and my daughter used yarn from my stash. Thank you once again to all who organized, created and participated in this venture.

Our colors are similar enough to be sisters...very peaceful yet cozy...kindred :) I didn't change Clue 6, but the ones with color changes did seem fuller to me as well. Optical illusion??? Lynn

Thanks, alwaysforyou (Lynn)! Wow, you know, I really didn't like clue 6 until I saw yours, and now I have to change my opinion. So beautiful and creative too! :bravo:

Here are my two CAL afghans ... the first one done in Bernat Waverly Simplicity colours - Birch White as MC; A - Aqua Frost; B - Colonial Beige; C - Bark; and D - Greek Sea. I followed the Bernat layout including the sc border. I used yarn of the colour of one or other side being sewn, to attach them together and this seemed to work well. My Grandmother taught me that a ‘good’ seamstress never uses a long thread, so I guess this was one opportunity to do that! This one is for my daughter and she chose the colours to suit her home. It is a lovely soft afghan and I am sure she and my three grandkids will enjoy it.

My second afghan was made for my husband and in an effort to make it less flowery as well as just show off the stitches, I used Bernat Super Value Honey for all the motifs and then did a sc around each with TLC Dark Brown (Bernat doesn’t seem to make a dark brown at this time) ... and then sewed them with the dark brown. The border is sc in dark brown, then what some have called ladder stitch - sc with ch 1, in Honey and then the final row is solid Dark Brown dc, in the sc as well as in the ch 1 all around. This afghan is a wee bit larger than the other due to the extra border on each motif as well as the larger final border. He approves!

Hi group,
I enjoyed making this afghan, and finally getting the chance to share my creation.
I used all Bernat Waverly yarns, colors:
MC: Greek Sea
A: Birch White
B: Butter
C: Aqua Frost
D: Blue Gown
Take care,
