I creates so many layout idea that it's crazy. I started with the square idea at the beginning and lots of people seemed to like the idea but i was still wasn't statisfied. I finally put together a nice straightforward rectangle shape but as I was putting the pieces together I put one piece in the wrong place and without having to rip out 10 motifs I refigured. I added red squared to give a pop.

My red motifs are my own designs and the cream is a modification of a square pattern. I also modified the clue 1 to a triangle to close the edges.

I want to thank crochetfanatic for the flower replacement for clue 6 and sonoma for the flat braid. I

I really enjoyed seeing everyone amazing :bravo: designs and hearing people's successes and troubles. I just love all the different layouts and colour. I still can't believe some people were able to finish 2 afghans.

PS I hope I will be able to get out the cat hair  I have two cats Fred and a long hair misty gray JJ.

What a sweet baby blanket! I love seeing baby blankets in dark colors - very different from the usual pastels.

I also changed the layout because I just didn't like the way it looked with my color choices. I made a picot edge to go with the lace detail of the motifs. Here are some pictures along with a pillow cover I made using one of the motifs and some Waverly colors. Hope you like. Sue

You did an awesome job on your blanket as well as the lovely pillow! :inlove:

Here is my finished afghan. I really enjoyed this CAL! I love looking at all the color combinations and different ways each one has arranged the blocks... I'll be back for the next one. This was my second CAL!

I made all the blocks as described in the clues but didn't really like the final layout so I remade some of the blocks, got rid of one color and one pattern totally and put it together in this rectangle with a couple additional rows of border. Yes, I ran out of the dark blue yarn about 90% of the way through the last border row but I decided to post my pic anyway. I loved making the "squares" and learning new stitches.
Looking forward to the next CAL. ☺

This is my first Mystery afghan and I am a novice crocheter. This is my finished afghan. I learned so much. I tried things I did not think I could do. I enjoyed the process tremendously. I am disappointed in the out come, but I really enjoyed the experience. Thank you.

I don't know why you are disappointed. Your afghan is very nice. I like the colors together.

Although I understand how you feel I must agree with karenaz4. Your afghan is lovely and I love the colors.

This was my first CAL too. I lost count of how many times I unraveled a motif and restarted until I finally got it right but it was a great learning experience. I learned some new stitches and got several ideas for doing borders. I'm playing around with ideas of doing other afghans and matching pillow, maybe not using all of the same motifs in one afghan. I can't wait until the next one.

Here's my finished afghan... :hellogoodbye: I didn't "get the memo" for the suggested color choices in each color way, so I used tjwjlove's layout  (thank you!!) I'm pretty happy with it now...

I finished my blanket a while ago with the border as given in the clue. I have since added to it. I am sooooo impressed with what everyone has done. I love scrolling through and looking at all the finished blankets. The talent and creativity here is unbelievable. :bravo:
