Very beautiful! I love the way it looks. I'm just starting mine this evening, so I have some catching up to do.

thank you, this cardigan is comfortable and curiously warm enough for this time of year Once the foundation row made, the rest is an easy ride and goes pretty quickly, can't wait to see the result of your cardigan

This is working up pretty fast. However after working about 5-6 rows I'm now wondering about the size. According to the sizes I fall just between a med and large. Since I don't like things too tight I went up to a large. Putting it around me now it almost seems too big. I'm thinking about frogging it before I get any further and going down to a med. My swatch was good with an H hook. If anything it was slightly on the small size so I figured that since I was between sizes that would work out fine. Grrr.... But I'm really liking the pattern and anxious to have it done!

according to size, medium was the right size for me. I did a swatch and used a 5mm hook. If I had to re-do it I would make it a little longer According to the pattern if you notice the sweater does not close at the bottom you only need a snap to close it at the top!

I noticed that it does not meet at the bottom and what I have done so far DOES go all the way around my somewhat thick mid-section. So.....I've about convinced myself that I need to frog back to the foundation row and get rid of the last two shells.

What is the finished back length including the border row? According to the pattern it's 18" for a med. I'm guessing the border adds at least an inch. I think the length will be about right for me. (I'm short!)

Thanks. That's about what I figured for the length. Hate frogging a couple of night's work. At least I'm not undoing the foundation row....only taking out the last couple of shells. I would hate to just keep working merrily along then realize when it's nearly done that it was too large! But the good thing is I LOVE it anytime I can go DOWN a size!

Is there anyone in particular I should write to asking if it would be possible for the designer of this pattern to resize it to fit children? This would be the absolute perfect pattern for little girls, especially those living in the south. Can you just imagine this on a little girl at Easter or in white for a Holy Communion?? Even that early in the year it is getting warm down here but cool in the morning and evening.
I can resize, cut down or enlarge just about any sewing pattern but am pants at redoing knit or crochet patterns

Wow, I'm no where near ready to work on this project, but was sitting here this evening on the computer and between tasks, I picked up a hook and yarn and did a small swatch of this pattern. Not the easiest that I've done, and frogged about 4 or 5 times. Its going to be a pretty set of stitches but just doing the foundation row on the chain row, will take forever! That's my least favorite part of any project.....the first row. Always hard, especially when you are doing several stitches in one of the chains. Maybe after doing it about 100 times, it will get faster. I'll just have to keep reminding myself how pretty it's going to be.

After years and years of crocheting I finally heard a tip that I now just love to use when working with chains. For years I would take the hard way and try and make my row 1 into both chains, as if it were a row higher.
Tip, crochet only into the front loop of your chain for your first row.
Ever since I started doing this my first row has not been as horrendous to work and I no longer fear starting a large chain project like I used to.

Also, in crochet you can undo extra chains, so I always always work a few extra chains and when I get to the end of row 1 I just remove any extra.
