I will use Satin since I have a large surplus of this yarn as it is my second favourite (Waverly is my new favourite yarn)[
My hand still aches when I knit, so I cannot work on a large project yet, this sounds like the perfect size for me. My gauge is also way different than it was before my surgery, which could be a direct result.

Maybe you could use the dishcloths as gifts later on.
By the way, remember to take lots of breaks, so your hands are not over-worked.

Alrighty! I have a question that I have been trying to find an answer for for a few years now and maybe with all the projects being worked in Satin these days someone here may have the answer finally.

How do you end your Satin?

I find it has a beautiful fray that makes it difficult to weave in as I would using any other yarn. When I made my first afghan using Satin I had a ton of colour changes and even though I weaved in as I went (using a usual technique) towards the end of making the blanket you could tell were my end were cuz of that fray it has. So how do you do it? The last few Satin projects I have made I have done the one thing I was taught to never do in fibre / needlework, I have tied knots then weaved in the knotted area and tied another a bit further up and cut it there. I no longer have that horrible fraying. How do you work in your Satin ends? I am not satisfied with the knots but that is the only thing I could think of to stop the fraying. If I were making tassels I would want the fray, it really is a great one, so soft and fuzzy! But this is on the sides of a blanket, where you should not have tassels!
I even tried simply just working the end into the row above as I crocheted, but cuz of the super slickness of the Satin it works its way out and still frays.

Hi, Shandeh. I hope I am not asking too much, but do you know when the video for the seed stitch used in this project will be up? I am having a little trouble with this one. Thanks!

Hi queen E. I have posted a link here for the purl stitch.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=091d3mfCY14

The seed stitch is simply knit one, purl one, knit one, purl one, knit one, purl one, knit one etc. With a seed stitch you always start your row with a knit stitch and end your row with a knit stitch. Every row is the same!

Incidently, the yarn is held at the back of the work for a knit stitch and at the front of the work for a purl stitch., so you end up bringing the yarn to the front after every knit and moving the yarn to the back after every purl.
There probably is a seed stitch video out there but I do hope that this helps in the meantime.
Good luck! It's a great stitch, I know two beginner knitters who are using this stitch to make scarves.

I weave in the end like normal, then, I weave it back the other way, running the yarn back through itself, to secure it.

Thanks, Zhanie and Shandeh. I was able to figure out how to do it using the Continental Method. It made it easier to put the yarn back and fourth. I just couldn't figure it out the English way. However, I look forward to seeing your video, Shandeh. It might make it easier to "see" how its done.

Update on my progress. My hand is starting to ache so I only got this much finished. Hopefully in a couple hours I can continue. For now I am going to go back to crocheting my Gentle Waves afghan. My gauge is still wrong, but I really think this is the kind of project that in the end it won't be a big issue.

I am using Satin Plum Heather Mist
For photo reasons I wish I had used my ball of Satin Lavender.

I pretty much always end this way and I still have trouble with the Satin when I do that. I must be the only one to ever have a problem with Satin and ends
:(
