Congratulations on learning to read the chart!

:knit: I used the clues from the CAL 2012. I used clue #1 and clue #3 using Bernat Baby Soft Yarns. With the 6 different clues it gives us lots of options.

I made a few baby blankets along the way. I find them a good size for practising a new stitch. Like the basket stitch I recently discovered in crochet! OMG is that ever easy to work! I used to think it was a tough stitch, all those back and front posts, but thanks to the CAL I now fear new stitches a bit less!
I don't have a photo of that one but I do have these other one I just whipped together one week. I really wanted to do a ripple design but couldn't find what I was looking for, so I made this up. Not original at all mind you but it allowed me to get over my ripple phase for a bit - now I am onto a wave stage! My daughter took this blanket to give to a co-worker who was having a baby.
I did make this after my basket weave one, so it is all done in front loops - I was on a kick! :P

Nice work! I'm like you....I'm not afraid to try new things in crochet now...for the same reason you mentioned. Our awesome CALs here on the Bernat website!

I finished my blanket. Here is a picture. I am pleased with the finally project. Now I have to wait patiently for my friend's son to be born. Whatever shall I do?!? Oh that is right, I have started work on another blanket for a baby girl due in Sept but might be overly eager to come :)

I was on a run of baby blankets for special requests and now I'm down to a scarf request and working a crochet a long with a friend to teach her crochet and to make another Christmas gift and using scrap yarn... so many positives coming out of that one :)
