I finished one of my wips. Nice to be able to cross it off my list of ufo's.

Here's a picture of the doily I made for a friend.

Laina, I love your doily. The pineapple doily is what got me into crocheting. That was my first crochet project. I love the look of the open lace. Great Job. :bravo:

Gee you guys are all so sweet!!! Makes me feel good that hopefuuly my friend will like it. :-)

Lialab, I did bookmark it so let me find it and I'll post the link. It's an old vintage pattern and had an error or two, but you should be able to figure it out.

Also the instructions weren't always so clear, but again, I think you'll do fine in figuring it out.

Hugs to you all!

Laina :-)

I found my bookmark. You have to be a member of the site to download patterns. There are some other nice doily patterns there as well. Have fun!

It is lovely!! How did you block it? I have a doily that is almost finished but I haven't worked on it for over a year because I forgot what hook size I was using. But now, thanks to the CAL and KAL, I understand the principle and th power of changing my tension and blocking.... :hrmm:

linda2012 wrote:Type1Mom.....what a very cool blanket! Love the pattern.....I don't think I have ever seen that before.

I had a special request from the Grandaughter (4-1/2 years) late in February to make a blanket for her. So I put our Mystery CAL on hold after completing 3 of the motifs, and getting part way through the 4th. She wanted a blanket with all the colors of the Disney princesses in it, and when I asked if she wanted flowers, stripes, or a design, she said she wanted a rainbow. So here is my rendition. I've been working on it exclusively since early March, using the baby wavy ripple pattern and making it a good bit wider. I was inspired by Needlenut's Stepping Waves Afghan, and she sugggested that this pattern for crochet produced a very similar design. I still need to add some to the length, (so it will be longer than wide :) ) and then will even out the ripple ends and do a border.I think the progress is not too bad, since I only have maybe a couple of hours to work on it in the evenings.

I need to hurry and get it done, because it's getting a bit warm here to work with all of that yarn in my lap,and I have to push it over to the side. (Gives the cat a nice place to snuggle up next to me). Once this is finished, I'll finish the "Not-So-Mystery-Anymore" CAL, and make the Satin On the Lace cardigan.

this is beautiful! I love the colours :bravo:
