What's for Dinner?

If you feel like talking about something that isn't knit- or crochet-related, feel free to do so here.

Lialab and zhanie, your meals sound wonderful!
I'm ready to move in anytime. :D

I will look for an easy version of Clair de Lune, and post a link.

I'm actually starting to feel a little better now! I started coming back to life at about 2 AM this morning....couldn't sleep, so I just got up and did some knitting. Went back to bed at about 6 AM, and slept until 11:30. This morning, I was able to get out and go to the post office, and grabbed some breakfast (Bojangles Chicken Supremes). I also picked up a half-salad at Wendy's, to save for a late lunch. Now, I can get some things done around the house, and not worry about cooking until tonight. I think I will make cornbread and buttermilk for dinner. :inlove:

That's what I'm having! Not sweet cornbread, crumbled in a bowl, with buttermilk poured over it.
Oh, the joys of good old southern food. :inlove:

Finally, someone else that wants cornbread and not corncake!!! I have friends who want to know why I won't use the cornbread mixes they swear by and that is the reason. They're too sweet. Have you ever tasted dressing made with instant cornbread?? Ick. I will continue to use the recipe my grandmother got from her mother and taught me.

I've been eating "cornbread and buttermilk" since I was a little girl. It's one of my favorite meals.

I cook some cornbread, using corn meal, egg, oil, and milk, and bake it in the oven.
When it's done, I take it out of the oven, then cut off a big slice right away...and crumble it in a bowl.

Then, I pour buttermilk all over it. And I sit down in a comfy chair, and eat it with a spoon. YUM!

I wrote about it on one of my blogs: http://spinningsandy.blogspot.com/2006/ ... rmilk.html
