Soooo I was on my way to bed as it's 1:00am and not only do I have to get up for church, but my son will be up at 6am, when I stumbled across this topic. I started to giggle as I was reading it, but had to truly laugh right out loud when I read one of your motivators Zhanie was "put your house on the market". I'm sure it's true, but it was the imagining it on a weekly basis that got me.
I share in the procrastination of cleaning, although my kitchen is usually caught up on dishes and such. My husband gets grumpy if the kitchen is too messy. The bathroom can be covered in toothpaste, soap and bath toys and he doesn't notice, but a stack of dirty dishes in the sink . . . it's like a neon sign.
I liked the "pick up 100 things" until I realized I probably pick up close to that in a day already and IT'S JUST TOYS!! My son likes to help with the vacuuming and sweeping and dishes (which is not always so helpful), but does not enjoy picking up toys. I'm getting smart though . . if he wants to vacuum, well the floor needs to be clean to do that so toys must go away
That's usually a good motivator. Until I find all the toys dumped just inside his bedroom door, on the floor.
My house is usually pretty messy. I'd rather be crafting than doing housework, but my crafting happens in the evening after the munchkin is in bed. My sister has a poem hanging just inside her front door. You've probably seen something similar. It talks about how untidy her house is, but how loved her children are. She put it up after she had baby number 5 and her oldest was just turning 5 and it's not come down since
So friends, I say go ahead and procrastinate and craft!
