Well, I just did the gauge swatch and the 5.00mm hook was way too small. I did swatches using the 5.5mm and 6.0mm and the 6.0mm was still 1/4" too small. Looks like I might have go to the 6.5mm (which is my largest hook). Is that normal? I'm crocheting as loose as I can. I'm a little confused. I'll try again tomorrow. :hrmm:

I'm using a 5.5 with no problems, I would use whichever one gets the gauge for you. :knit:

Which yarn are you using?
Oh....and when doing double crochet, be sure to pull the yarn up to the height of a double crochet stitch, instead of holding it close to the bottom. I hope that explanation is clear. :?

Here it is........ me wearing (proudly, yeah) my cardigan. It is hard to take a picture of the sparkle. It is not too much but just enough to catch the light.

Wow! So pretty. :bravo: I've never made a garment yet, but this makes me want to try it.

Well here's my gauge swatch. I ended up using a 6.5mm hook. The yarn is Bernat Satin and the color is "Stone". I love the feel of this yarn!! It's soooooo soft!! :cloud9:

Oops! I guess it would help to add the photo!

It took a while to figure out the foundation row, but the chart helped me understand it better.

Now, I'm getting ready to do the 2nd Row, and it looks like it's gonna be smooth sailing from here on out.

I will make a video this week, showing how to do the foundation row.

Any luck on that video? I'm already stumped. :helpme:

I was in the middle of making the video last night, and my camera battery died.

Yay! I'm so glad you figured it out! I will still be making a video, to help others who make this pattern.

Don't you hate it when that happens! Technology is so wonderful but can be so frustrating! I still look forward to seeing your video though just to see that I'm doing this right.

I'm confused on the sleeve construction. Particularly need some clarification on how the increase rows are made. I've got the fourth row, and assume that the next row is the chain 3 row (same as 1st row). But how is the increase made on the next rows? The instructions for med size says "rep last row 5 times more. 8 dc before shell." this is the part that I'm not understanding.
