Don't you hate it when that happens! Technology is so wonderful but can be so frustrating! I still look forward to seeing your video though just to see that I'm doing this right.

Here's the video for the Foundation Row!

I've got the fourth row, and assume that the next row is the chain 3 row (same as 1st row). But how is the increase made on the next rows? The instructions for med size says "rep last row 5 times more. 8 dc before shell." this is the part that I'm not understanding.

Hi Linda! :hellogoodbye:
I haven't gotten that far yet, so I don't know the answer yet.
Can any of the rest of you help with this?

4th row: (Increase row). Ch 3. 1 dc in first dc. Pat to last dc. 2 dc
in last dc. Turn.
Rep last row 3 (5-6-5-7-7) times more. 6 (8-9-8-10-10) dc before
shell.

I haven't gotten that far yet, I have had to put mine on hold for a bit, but it looks like the increase is at the end of the shell row, you do 2 dc in last dc instead of one.

Thanks so much for the link. And thank you again for the video.

I went stash diving and could only find one skein each of two colors of the Satin yarn. I hope to buy some next weekend when I get to travel to a town that has a Jo Ann's.

Thanks again for all the help you give all of us on here. :)

Hummm.....right.....on Row 4. This increase is repeated 5 more times (on a med size). It's the "8 dc BEFORE shell" part that has me confused. Further, if you just continue increasing at the end of each row, then when you work off the increases in the rows to shape the top, you have nothing to decrease in at the beginning of each row. It sounds like there should be some increases at the beg of each of the increase rows as well. Anyone there yet? :helpme:

I guess I spoke too soon! I didn't have it figured out after all. So a froggin' I went, again! Then I didn't have enough shells in the foundation row!! So now I have to frog again!!!!! I guess I need lessons in doin' chains or counting! Hopefully I'll get it right this time.

Thanks for the video Shandeh. It sure does help a lot! :bravo:

Easy solution for getting the correct number of chains in any foundation row. Just chain a few more times than you think you need. I always miscount unless I use markers, even then if you skip too many chains anywhere in the foundation row, you will be off. With the extra chains, you don't have to worry about not having enough, and you can always undo the unnecessary ones when you are done!

I've been thinking about this, and I think there is an increase on BOTH ends, because it says, "chain 3, work DC in FIRST DC, instead of NEXT DC. So, I think the increases will grow on both sides, until you have 8 DCs at each end.
