houndstooth question

Hi. I'm getting started on a blanket and have decided on houndstooth for it... but after starting and referring to many different patterns for ideas, I believe it is supposed to be reversible. Mine is not and I don't know what I am doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated

I cannot imagine that stitch would be reversible. It will probably need a lining attached to the back.
