Wow! We sure have learned a lot about crochet in a very short time!
For our first project, we made a simple dishcloth, then we made baby booties for our second project.
Now, we are ready to learn another skill - crocheting in the round!
We will be making some quick and fun Cup Cozies
, with an applied Awareness Ribbon.
The original pattern has a pink ribbon for Breast Cancer Awareness, but you can choose your favorite cause, and make the ribbon the color you want. Here is the Wikipedia page about Awareness Ribbon Colors: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_awareness_ribbons
If there is no cause you feel passionate about, you can just leave the ribbon off. Your cup cozy will still look and feel wonderful.
To make your cup cozy, you will need Bernat Handicrafter Cotton yarn, in three different colors. (Yay! We will learn to change colors!) If you don't apply an awareness ribbon, you will only need two colors. With the yarn you purchase, you will be able to make TWO cup cozies.
You will also need two different crochet hooks. Size J (6 mm)
for the cozy, and size H (5 mm)
for the ribbon.HOW-TO VIDEOS BY SHANDEH FOR MAKING THE CUP COZY
