I am a vintage knitting FREAK! I just love finding that stuff....especially if it's still in the original package.
Take a look at this old poncho kit I bought several years ago on eBay.

Believe it or not, I actually found another one in a different colorway!

Those models on the cover get me every time, with their awkward almost-walking pose.

:knit: I love your kits. Looks like the early 70's.I have a couple of old pattern books and they crack me up. I still use them from time to time. I love old vintage things. I just like to look and imagine what it was like then. I have a crocheted bedspread, a quilt and several dollies from my grandmother and I love them.

:knit: I did my swatch on the 4 dpn's and I need to try the 3. I'm also a little to big. I started the 3 and I thought it was going to be to small. :( Now I have to start over. I guess just as well, the more practice I get the more comfortable I feel. I can't find any Bernat Sox Yarn in this town. I have tried several Wal Mart's, JoAnn's and Michael's. You would think with 1.2 - 1.3 million people here they would carry it. :hrmm: Our craft stores here desire a lot. I'll just have to order it online and wait. I don't like waiting. I have ants in my pants and can't sit still that long.

Here are photos of my too big gauge swatch, using size 4 dpns:

Too few stitches (about 25):

Too few rows (about 32):

The good news is that I finished my second swatch, made with size 3 dpns, and it's just right! :D

:knit: I redid mine on a 3 and it worked out just right. I did the ribbing and the knit rows.It looks good so far. :hellogoodbye: I haven't seen you on to much lately. I hope you feeling OK. While waiting for more sock info, I have been working on the Bernat From The Middle Baby Blanket. I did get a chance go to your friend Silver's site and starting reading about the socks. Pretty cool, she had a lot of tips that I think will help. Thanks.

Thanks for noticing! I haven't been feeling well lately. Having trouble sleeping, and feeling weak and dizzy. I've spent entire days in bed.

I felt a little better today, though. Got a lot done on my crocheted "On the Lace Cardigan". :) I'm hoping to cast on my ankle socks tomorrow, with the camera taping. I'm so glad my friend Silver's tutorial helped you. I used it a lot when I first learned sock knitting.
