:hellogoodbye: QueenE79, I am super slow at knitting. I have to keep checking all the stitches and pay close attention to what I'm doing. The 1st cozy I did was a little scary, but once I did it. Its much easier than it looks. I'll be trying another cup cozy, so I'll still be here. Since we are learning, its go at your own pace and Shandeh is always here to help us.

Thanks for the encouragement. I will try to find them this weekend if time permits.

And I love your breast cancer cozy! I have to make one of those! My mother-in-law passed away last July from breast cancer. So I def have to make one of those!

By the way, everyone.....TAKE NOTICE!!! :reading:
I contacted Bernat Consumer Support, and found out that the pattern DOES have an error.

It should be knit all the way through with the same design - K2, P2 ribbing.

So, Bernat is correcting the pattern as we speak.

When you make your cup cozy, be sure that you do NOT change to K2,P1 ribbing after the color change. Just keep going with K2, P2 ribbing. :knit:

Thanks! I am in! Just need the right needles...

You might be able to find them at Walmart. If not, check your local craft shop or yarn store.

QueenE79-- I'm sad to her about your mother-in-law. I have lost several relatives to Breast Cancer. So, we support the cause. I have to makes lots of the ribbons for my 17 year old grandson. He takes them to school and shares them with friends. They use them as pins. He just did the Walk a couple of months ago. When I see the Pink Ribbons I feel so much closer to the loved ones we've lost. Now that I am learning to knit I thought it was the perfect one to make.

Thank you
And I found them!! Which one is better: the metal or bamboo needles? Michael's had both. Since the metal ones were cheaper I went with those. But I was curious which were better to work with?

Cancer sucks, doesn't it? I am sorry for your loses too. My Dad died about 3 years ago from lung cancer, so I totally support the cause too. I like your idea of making ribbons to send to the school. I was planning to make this crochet fillet breast cancer blanket. Just have to figure out how to do fillet. Its next on my ever growing to-do list.

I myself prefer metal.
It is all a personal preference.
If you like your yarn running smooth on the needles metal is a good choice, if you prefer a bit of stick then wood is your choice. I myself cannot stand the sticking. It makes me feel like I am the one doing it wrong. I like how the yarn can glide on the metal, for me it makes it go faster. But I am still very new to all this. I tried bamboo years ago cuz I heard so many wonderful things about the bamboo. I hated it and thought I was the one who could not knit well even though the dishcloths I made all came out perfect. So I gave up trying. When I picked knitting back up to try and learn it again with this years KAL I invested in a metal set and suddenly I feel much better about knitting! It nearly feels like second nature when performing the stitches. I am certain it is the difference in the material used for the needles.
If you have used a wood set before then you can compare the feel as you work on this cozy. If not, it may be a good idea to try and find a cheap set (or someone who may have one) and test it out. You will never know what you prefer till you try other materials. It could mean the difference between loving knitting and hating it!

I agree with karenarp about the difference between metal and bamboo needles.
It's purely a matter of preference.

Some people say that bamboo needles will get smoother if you wipe them down with waxed paper.
