I don't know if this fits here or in the 4H thread. I made a new friend last fall, this odd looking half grown turkey bird started following me all over the place. It kept giving me that "Are you my mother look". I would go in the house, it would peck on the door. Turns out it belonged to the little boy across the street, his 4H bird, yes it was a turkey , of some sort. The kids had the bird spoiled rotten so it got very lonely when they left and always came to visit me when they were gone. It helped me pick tomatoes from the garden, I would pick one, it would peck one. Anyway, she went to her grandmothers farm for the winter and now has a mate. Here are a few photos of her on my porch giving me the lost animal look.

I just had to add a picture to this topic. My son, husband and I were golfing the other weekend and my son snapped this picture of a hawk by one of the greens.

Awesome turkey pics! I love the story too--and that it has a happy ending! May they live happily ever after! :inlove:

Wow, cool! :cooldude: Those birds are bold--and plentiful around here in southeastern mid-Michigan. Bald eagles are getting pretty prolific around in MI too--I don't have photos, but my husband and I have seen them while kayaking offshore of Lake Huron--saw one in flight over the water once, also over tall trees near shoreline.

Oh! Did I say "more"?? 8-) ;)
My husband and I broke down and used that Windex Outdoor stuff you attach to garden hose--I highly recommend this method! (Like there's any other way?? )

My mom's house is apparently a sanctuary for beautiful birds. Every time I visit, I see a GORGEOUS red-headed woodpecker, as well as a beautiful blue bird. I love sitting outside, waiting to catch a glimpse of them. I wish I had a a good, strong, zoom lens camera.

But, I did find an image online, that looks just like the woodpecker.
