I can't wait to see your work in polymer, shandeh!
Making buttons and accessories will be the perfect finishing touch! I was considering trying my hand @ polymer (I made a bead many years ago, which I still treasure) -- I was curious about using it to make purse handles-- and then I'm like, No, :stop: I already have this yarn Frankenstein I have to feed! :P

Ha! I love it!
My Yarn Frankenstein is very happy.

I don't know if I'm creating a polymer monster, or not. We'll just have to wait and see.

Hi all :hellogoodbye: This isn't a hobby for me, but I do artwork for video game companies and illustrate children's books. Crochet is my hobby.

If you are interested in seeing some of my work you can check the following link. Most of this stuff is older and is personal work. Some of it has been published and displayed in galleries in various different parts of the world. I am not allowed to post any of my "work" work publicly due to copyright.

Wow, your artwork is fantastic! I really love your whimsical (but sometimes wicked... yet still whimsical!) monsters!

Thank you Kaleigh :) I admit I have a bit of a diabolical sense of humor when I do some of my artwork.

babyhatter, you're an awesome artist! :notworthy:

I'm hoping to try my hand at some art over the summer. I found LOTS of art supplies on clearance at my local craft stores. I even found a $100 easel for $25!!!(I wonder if their fiscal year ends over the summer?)

Now, I have everything I need to learn oil painting, acrylic painting, and watercolor as well. I've been watching some online videos, and reading how to's as well. Now, I just need to designate a spot in my home for the work to be done.

And, I'm still collecting stuff for my polymer clay interest. I think I'm finally ready to dive into that hobby. I've already chosen my first project - new handles for my old crochet hooks!

Thank you Shandeh have fun with your art :) I rarely get a chance to use my traditional art things anymore as most of the companies I freelance for use digital art. I have really gotten hooked on it, the ability to use many layers of transparency for depth is great , don't have to wait for the pain to dry that way. If you really get into it, you should give digital a try, wacom sells a great little tablet called a bamboo. Getting used to looking a computer screen when your hands are drawing on a different surface is quite disconcerting in the beginning. Be sure to post some pics of your work when you get some completed.

Thank you also lialab, I have tons of fun. I really need to get some classes and learn 3D, but there is no place close to me to attend. Your daughter in law is taking a great route, there is a huge demand for 3d artists in gaming companies. Usually they will start as a rigger and work their way up, fantastic choice she made in learning 3D.

I already wrote that I don't take new year resolution, maybe it is not quite right. After 40 some years I sat down on my piano bench and start to get back at my ever first sonata. OMG I am kind of rusty. Anyway, I figure that if I sit at least 1 hour a day, maybe by next year I could play more. Now is that a new year's resolution? 8-)

It's awesome!
You probably already know that I'm a piano teacher.
I have heard that it only takes two months of good practice to get back to your former playing ability.
You can do it! :bravo:
