Heading southwest to Texas to see some relatives living there (we are aware that it is quite hot there in late July but we love hot weather), then a little further south to Corpus Christie or Galveston back to northeast either to Myrtle beach or Virginia Beach, and our last stop to Philadelphia to visit with our goddaughter and finally back home. I guess I will have a ton a photos and souvenirs when we return

Here is a tip I learned from travelling with my brother from Ontario to Florida that you may not have known that could help save you money on your trip.
Stop at the welcome centre at the entrance to each State and pick up the different hotels booklets. Then when you are ready to call it a night you can look in the booklet to find the hotel with the price that suits you where you are on the roads!
I had no idea till my brother told me! Your States are so small we sometimes had to judge if that was one we would be driving through during the day so as to not waste time stopping and picking up a booklet we would never use.
Hopefully someone out there will find this tip useful!
Only one hotel claimed they had no more 'coupon' rooms left but when we motioned to leave she gave it to us! The people in front of us in line paid more than double than what we were charged - we overheard the amounts - so this can be huge savings!

So, is anyone on the road now? I would love to hear about your travels, because I'm stuck at home for the summer.

We are still planning our road trip, (Sorry Shandeh we will not pass through North Carolina, we are meeting family members in Virginia beach) we have at least another month to wait, but time enough to plan packing. I don't travel light........ I don't want to spend my time doing laudry after all make I will be on vacation
For now I've been quiet cuz I challenged myself in doing a crochet cardigan, besides finishing all my WIPs. I'll post pictures when finished (one day...................) ;)

Here is a funny story about laundry, at least I think it is!!!!a few years back (well, way back!!! lets call it 1975) I was travelling with my parents, we spent 3 weeks in Barbados, and my mother did not want to do laundry either. So when we came back and pass through customs the nice officer just wanted to look through our bags, of course!!!. My father who never had a good sense of humor just look at the officer and candidly said: "well officer, we have nothing to declare and I would not touch this bag with a 10 feet pole if I were you, you see this bag has our 3 weeks dirty clothes!!! I was a little embarrassed, but we had no problem clearing customs!!!
