Please don't give up!
Just try a different project then come back to this. Working on something else may help clear your head. I know when a stitch is frustrating me it helps me to work on something new and easier. Have you tried you tube? Maybe after making a quick project you can look it up.

Hi Leninha

Sorry I did not answer your email at inquire@bernat.com, but I have been unable to find any message concerning this afghan. I have worked up a sample, so please send me a message and I will send you pictures of my work.

You are so nice karenarp! I did try a project in between. | did a little bed jacket for my Mom in crochet and it was very cute. That's when I got back to this project tried for a while and then out of desperation looked for help here. I have looked at you tube and other forums but thought that maybe someone here would have done the afghan successfully since it is a Bernat pattern and wool. I just don't understand why the edges aren't straight! It kind of bothers me because it really should work. Anyways thank you for your patience and assistance.

Well, if I were to remake this afghan, (BTW, which I am planning on making the fall one, which I do think is exactly the same pattern, just a different colour way,) I would be doing a scdec at the edges to end every row and begin the next row. Personally I think this makes a cleaner edge. But the other thing you could do to hide the funky edge is when the afghan is completed do a sc border down both sides with whatever colour you have most leftover. I just did that to my Summer ripple afghan (topic in here) then I put on a shell stitch after the sc border and am very pleased with how neat my edges all look now.
I have done this afghan before too! But that was a couple years ago before my daughter left for college.
